Realism is the style most of our clients come to InkBlaze for. A realistic tattoo has to read like a photograph from across the room and still hold its detail once it has healed, so we match every project with an artist who works in that exact style.

Black and grey, colour and micro realism

Black and grey realism suits portraits, statues, film characters and darker themes; it ages gracefully and is the base of many large sleeves and back pieces. Colour realism is for animals, flowers and surreal compositions where light and saturation carry the image. Micro realism fits a whole scene into a few centimetres: a pet portrait, a mother and baby, a small statue. It needs a very steady hand and fine needles, and a sensible minimum size so the detail stays readable for years.

Portraits

A portrait is the least forgiving tattoo there is. Bring the sharpest, best-lit photo you have; your artist will tell you honestly whether it has enough detail and which size and placement will keep the likeness as the skin ages.

Large projects

Sleeves, legs and back pieces are planned as one composition and done over several sessions. How many depends on size, detail and how your skin takes the ink, so we plan it with you at the consultation instead of promising a number in advance.

Who will tattoo you

Our resident realism artists work alongside international guest artists, many of them from Kazakhstan and Russian-speaking. See our artists, or read the Turkish page on realistik dövme.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can you tattoo a portrait from my photo?

Yes. Send the sharpest, best-lit photo you have. Your artist will tell you if it has enough detail and suggest the right size and placement.

How big does a micro realism tattoo need to be?

It depends on how much detail the image has. Your artist will suggest a minimum size so the detail stays readable once healed.

How many sessions does a sleeve take?

It depends on size, detail and your skin. We plan it with you at the free consultation rather than promising a number in advance.

How much does a realism tattoo cost?

The price depends on size, detail, placement and the artist. Send us your idea on WhatsApp; the design consultation is free.

Can I get a tattoo if I am under 18?

No. We do not tattoo anyone under 18, even with parental consent.
